我们和IB的PYP

一、IB是什么?

IB International Baccalaureate是一个非盈利性的教育基金会,成立于1968年,总部设在日内瓦,在北京、布宜诺斯艾利斯、纽约、新加坡等11个城市设有办事处。截止2015年,全球共有147个国家4,375IB学校开设了不同阶段的IB课程。


二、整个IB的课程分为四个阶段

小学项目(PYP)、中学项目(MYP)、大学预科项目(DP)和IB职业相关课程(IBCC)。无论是在哪个阶段,课程都十分关注培养学生的国际视野。

三、今天为大家介绍和智萌孩童年龄相关的PYP项目

(一)PYP的来源

PYP阶段(Primary Years Program)从以前的ISCP项目(International Schools Curriculum Project)发展而来,于1997年正式开设。IB-PYP 阶段的课程对312岁的学生开放。对这个阶段学生的培养目标是活跃的、有爱心的、长久的学习者。他们被希望尊重自我和他人,有能力参与到社会的活动当中。在这个阶段,IBO关注的是学生的全面发展。


(二)在PYP阶段,课程围绕五个关键词展开

知识Knowledge):包括语言、数学、科学、艺术、体育和社会科学等。

关键性问题:What do we want students to know about?

概念Concepts):学生在学习课程的同时,他们被鼓励能够通过询问而得到更深层次的、在学科范围内外的知识,形成自己的体系。

关键性问题:What do we want students to understand?

技巧Skills):指的是学生在课堂内外获得知识的时候得到的技巧。

关键性问题:What do we want students to be able to do?

态度Attitudes):指的是学生的国际视野和对待他生活的社区的态度。

关键性问题:What do we want students to feelvalue and demonstrate?

行动Action):即富有责任心的、有想法的、合适的行动。

关键性问题:How do we want students to ReflectChoose and Act?

四、IB的教育哲学

Education for Life(终生的教育),通过综合的平衡的学科及富有挑战性的评估,国际文凭组织旨在帮助学校努力发展青年人的个人才智,教会他们把教室里学到的知识与外部世界相结合。除了严格的知识及高标准的学业要求,特别强调培养理想的具有国际意识及负责感的公民。


最终,IB学生应成为批判的、有同情心的思想家;终身的学习者;熟悉当地及世界事务的参加者;各民族生存在一个世界上,意识到只有尊重各种文化和不同态度,才能使我们的生活丰富多彩。


五、智萌和IB

智萌的课程汲取世界各地优秀课程的精华,以孩子的兴趣为中心、以探究为方式,为儿童提供各种机会、丰富的材料和资源来持续激发他们在社交、认知、情感、体能和创造力方面的潜能。以此建立他们的价值观、拓展交流技能,解决问题、发展思想。智萌同时提供舞蹈、武术、轮滑、美术、唱歌、手工等多个兴趣活动,孩子可按自己的兴趣随意挑选。


智萌遵循中国的《幼儿园教育指导纲要》和《3-6岁儿童学习与发展指南》,同时结合了国际文凭组织(IBO)的课程,以及意大利的瑞吉欧(Reggio Emilia)教育,共同构成了幼儿园的课程体系。




六、PYP and MYP Teaching Practice Sharing Seminar-Kunshan

201664日、5日,智萌国际幼儿园的7位教育者坐回教室,再次重新思考IB课程的实践,如何让教学方法更有效的运用于Inquiry?如何让引导呈现于孩子生活中的每分每秒?这都需要方法,很幸运智萌团队在Dr. Marjorie A. HenningsenJennifer Le Varge的课堂里又打开了一扇门。



Day 1: Emergent literacy in Math and Science in the early years


Powerful tools for making sense of experience and the world around us.

Role of talk & Expression in learning

* Talk is a powerful tool for organizing thought and building and identity as a learner.

* Talk reveals prior understanding and experience.

* Talk allows for listening, sharing ideas, receiving feedback, and building on others' ideas.


Emergent Literacy

* Literacy development begins before children start formal instruction in elementary school.

* Reading and writing develop at the same time and are interrelated in young children, rather than achieved in sequential stages.

* Literacy involves listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities ( functional aspects of both oral and written language)


Day 2: Inquiry-Inspired Learning Environments: Making the Classroom an Additional Teacher.

Principles for designing invitations


* Exploring-Children are drawn to the sensory aspect of materials.


* Transforming-Children are completely mesmerized with transforming materials and rearranging the world around them.

* Organizing and Designing-With an interesting, varied collection of materials preschool children will organize them by their attributes or use them in beautiful designs.


* Building and Constructing-Young children like to put things together in relationship to each other, to connect things to other things, and to use building and construction materials to represent many aspects of their ideas and understandings.


* Dramatizing-with limited props preschool-age children will turn anything into dramatic play.

* Drawing-Drawing is a natural medium for young children to express their ideas.


* Reading-Children will thoughtfully study books and visual information related to a collection of props they have been using for exploring and representing.
